I have good news and bad news. The good news is that I got my camera back! I was overjoyed when I received an email from the repair shop saying it was ready, and I biked there as quickly as I could to pick up my baby.

It feels so good to have it back, and it was a clear reminder of how much I love photography.

The bad news is, today’s post was not supposed to be a green smoothie. It was supposed to be a strawberry pie. You’ve read about my pie failures more than once, but this time I really thought I had the pie thing down! It certainly looked delicious, and the dough rolled out beautifully, but…when I sliced it open I realized I had some pie soup on my hands.

If you’re skeptical about green smoothies, I understand. Stay away from kale because you’ll usually taste the kale, no matter how many berries you add. But spinach is magical! You definitely can’t taste the stuff. If you’re looking for a way to give your morning a boost, this green smoothie is the ticket.   • 1 large handful of spinach (about 1 cup)
  • ¾ cup almond milk (or other non-dairy milk)
  • 1 banana
  • ½ cup blueberries
  • 1 Tablespoon peanut butter
  • 1 Tablespoon ground flax or hemp hearts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Add the spinach and almond milk to the blender and blend.
  2. Add the banana, blueberries, peanut butter, and flax. Blend and serve.
