You know how I’m always going on about recipes that are so easy, they’re impossible to screw up? Well. I think I might have to go back on my word because I have done the inevitable. I have screwed up Kraft Dinner.
We all know distracted driving is extremely dangerous, and I think distracted cooking might be venturing into that dangerous territory. I was just on the phone with my mom and managed to make two major mistakes in the KD process. Instead of boiling the water first, I dumped the pasta into a pot of cold water and then left it on the stove where, not long afterward, saw out of the corner of my eye the white foamy volcano on top of the pot that can only indicate one thing: the pot had boiled over.
As I type this, I’m snacking on a bowl of KD, so I guess it all worked out in the end. But I would like to say, if you make mistakes I did, know you are not the only one. I am the king of distracted cooking (I once nearly started a kitchen fire).
So, I’m not going to tell you this recipe can’t be messed up. But I am going to tell you that you’re going to love the sweet combination of tart, citrusy lime flavor, and creamy vanilla ice cream. The milkshake is thin enough to be sipped through a straw, but if you prefer thicker shakes, just reduce the milk a little. Crunchy graham cracker crumbs will have you holding on to those last days of summer, with a foamy milkshake mustache to send them off smiling.
On a kind of related note, did you know I have an email list? It’s like a billion times better than my old one. I’ve moved off Feedburner, so now, if you subscribe, you’ll receive my whole post in your inbox, including the recipe and photos. Plus, you’ll get a free printable baking conversions chart crafted by yours truly! It’s super handy to hang on your fridge for easy reference. You can sign up for the email list in the box on the right sidebar. If you’re already a member of the list and wish to have the chart, just shoot me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
And now, get your butt in the kitchen and make this key lime pie milkshake. You probably won’t mess it up.
